So I had planned to be really good over Lent and not spend anything that wasn't necessary though food, rent, fuel etc was allowed. However, I went into town this afternoon & let my rule slip which I know is so bad a fortnight before Lent finishes. But I do think that they were 3 wise purchases & I am glad that I have got them.
The first item was Clarins Everlasting Foundation +. I currently am using a Clinique Stay Matt Oil-Free but I've just not been feeling it at the moment, it seems its not a right colour match, too pinky & come lunchtime its sitting on my face rather than with my face (if that makes sense?). So I am planning on rejigging my skincare routine and switching over to Clarins anyway so I was happy to discuss the foundation when the consultant asked if I wanted to chat about it. I was thinking of going for the Matte one but she thought that the Everlasting one would be better for me. She took my whole face of foundation off (the remover smelled UH-mazing) and she matched the foundation to my skin & it felt so lovely. Its like I'm not wearing anything, my skin can breathe but it has balanced my skin colour where I have a bit too much redness, spots or needs a boost of radiance. It also can be applied with your fingers which was a bit surprising but still look great when she showed me the finished look. Despite it being a liquid foundation, it isn't shiny or looks too oily but it looks dewy & doesn't make me look like I've just been for a run.
My second item is a lovely little makeup bag from Next. They were having a little sale going on & I had a voucher so thought why not?! I have a very small makeup bag & a fairly large one but don't have a medium sized one. It's cute silver, full length zip & I sure will come in very handy or is just pretty to look at. Also for £3 (& I had a voucher so actually didn't pay anything) why would you say no!

My final item of my trip is this concealer palette from Topshop. I have been looking for a solid cream based concealer which should hopefully stay in place compared to the ones in tubes with doe foot applicators (I am currently using Rimmel Wake Me Up & a Clinique Touche Eclat style one). I haven't actually heard anything about it as it was a bit of an impulse buy BUT I was looking out for some alternative concealers. This palette has 3 'creamy' colours - a yellowy, a nude & a pinky shade & then has a white/translucent setting powder. Hopefully I will have good things to say about this & its a much more budget friendly to Bobby Brown one I have heard about.
Definitely not a big haul but considering I have been good & haven't been buying anything in a while, I felt a bit naughty. I will do a review on the foundation & palette after I have used them for a while.
I hope you liked my first blog post! xx
